Location: This position is located in Albany, NY – onsite work is required    
 
Status: Hourly, Non-exempt    
 
Pay Range: $30- $41 Compensation based on Experience   
  
Maintenance & Facilities Technician

Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Maintenance & Facilities Technician to support our production environment by ensuring equipment reliability and facility operations run smoothly and safely. This role is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment and building systems, managing maintenance resources, and partnering with production teams to minimize downtime and keep operations on track.


Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Machinery

  • Lead and execute preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment issues efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate service records and equipment performance data.
  • Collaborate with production to prioritize and resolve urgent repairs.
  • Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs and parts.
  • Procure non-standard maintenance supplies as needed.

Facilities Management

  • Maintain facility systems including HVAC, utilities, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Perform routine inspections and address maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate external contractors for major repairs and upgrades.
  • Ensure proper waste disposal and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.

Resource & Operations Support

  • Manage maintenance inventory, tools, and spare parts.
  • Work within budget and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Anticipate production needs and resolve potential delays.
  • Support equipment installations and continuous improvement efforts.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and address hazards immediately.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the team.
  • Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • ERP experience preferred (training available).
  • Ability to read technical, architectural, or shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of fabrication materials and hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Teams, and digital tools.
  • Safety-conscious with knowledge of proper material handling practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity.

Work Environment

  • Industrial/manufacturing setting with exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, and fumes.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
